0 Level Spells
(from the Pathfinder RPG system)
0-level spells (known as cantrips for arcane caster, and orisons for divine) work a bit differently. For all spell-casting classes, ignore the column for 0 Level spells under “Spells per Day”
- Prepared Casters (like Druids, Clerics and Wizards) can prepare 4 0-level spells per day. These spells are cast like any other spell, but they are not expended when cast, and may be used as often as desired in given game day.
- Spontaneous Casters (like Bards and Sorcerers) learn a number of 0-level spells as noted on the relevant class ability table under “Spells Known”. These spells are cast like any other spell, but do not consume any spell slots and may be used as often as desired in a game day.
Cure/Inflict Minor Wounds
Because of the unlimited uses of 0-level spells in a day, these two spells must by necessity function slightly differently.
- Cure Light Wounds, now also known as Revive, can only be used on a target with fewer than 0 hit points.
- Inflict Light Wounds, now also known as Bleed, can only be used on a target with more than 0 hit points, or a stabilized character with fewer than 1 hit point.
